BackgroundThis antibody reacts extremely well with B cell lymphoma, in rare cases also T cell lymphoma may be stained. In Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Reed Sternberg Cells will be stained. CD20 is a non-glycosylated membrane protein with a molecular mass of33 kDa, which is typical for resting B cells. B cell activation leads to higher molecular isoforms of the protein, which will also be detected by the antibody L26. The antigen is absent from plasma cells (CD138+).
